6. Read the option chain

Open interest, change in OI, IV, delta, the ATM row and spot line, exactly as they stood. · 1:01

Transcript

The option chain shows every strike exactly as it stood at this minute. Its title has the time, the lot size and the forward price.

Open interest is how many contracts are open at each strike: calls on the left, puts on the right, with a bar for each.

Next to it are the change in open interest since yesterday, the implied volatility, and the delta of each option.

The highlighted row is the at-the-money strike, and the dashed line shows where the spot price is right now.

Shaded prices are in the money. A price in italics had no trade yet that day, so it is a model price.

The Columns button adds gamma, theta, vega and volume.

And tick All strikes to see the whole chain, not just the strikes near the money.
